ASL Journal #6 Debriefing Section

 

We include here some errata for the ASL Rulebook 2nd Edition (including Chapter K) to join what we previously published in Journals 3, 4, & 5. Also included is some errata for Chapter H, some miscellaneous scenario errata, and errata for some pieces in Journal 5. (Thanks to Bruce Probst and Ole Boe for their help in compiling this, and special thanks to Scott Jackson for the same and for his help with the Q&A.)

 

Errata for ASLRB 2nd Edition, Chapter H, Scenarios, and Journal 5

 

A4.12:  replace entire section with ÒAny Good Order MMC which begins the MPh/APh and ends its MPh/APh stacked with a leader of the same nationality in the same Location, at the same level (2.8), and with the same Wire/entrenchment/panji/paddy status is eligible for a two MF bonus during that MPh/APh, provided it expends all its MF while moving in a combined stack with that leader, and does not expend any of its MF to mount, ride, or dismount any form of conveyance.Ó

 

A7.3: second sentence lines 5-6, replace Òdue to the effect of terrain, Hindrances, target characteristics, and/or leadershipÓ with Òas listed on the IFT DRM chart or in the appropriate rules sectionÓ. After the second sentence add: ÒEach applicable entry on the IFT DRM chart is cumulative (A.17) and is applied only once per attack, unless indicated otherwise.Ó

 

A7.52: second sentence line 3, delete Ò(/Cowering/CX penalty)Ó. After the second sentence add: ÒShould any member of the FG incur a detrimental DRM, it applies to the entire FG (cumulative as per A7.3).Ó

 

A8.3: add at the end ÒIf a unit, or any SW/Gun it possesses, uses Subsequent First Fire (or Intensive Fire) then that unit and all its SW/Guns are marked with a Final Fire counter.Ó 

 

A8.41 EX: second paragraph, lines 23-25 replace Ò...the 4-6-7 would then be marked with a First Fire counter while the LMGÕs First Fire counter would be flipped to its Final Fire side.Ó with Òthe 4-6-7 and LMG would then both be marked with a Final Fire counter.Ó

 

A9.52: replace the second sentence with ÒSpraying Fire can be used against a moving unit and against a Location without a moving unit (halved again for Area Fire), although its only effect in the second Location would be to leave Residual FP.Ó

 

A11.51: line 5, replace Òunbroken/unpinned, armedÓ with Òunbroken, unpinned, and armedÓ.  Lines 7-8 delete Òin a halftrackÓ.

 

D4.2 line 7: replace Òclaim aÓ with Òclaim an in-hexÓ before ÒCase Q TH DRMÓ.

 

E9.12: at the end of the first sentence, add Òand the hexgrain direction they will all share.Ó

ASOP (rev.): Pre-Game Sequence, 11th primary bullet after ÒRecord the Drop Point of each paratrooper Wing (E9.12)Ó add  Òand the single hexgrain direction that will apply to all Wings.Ó

 

British Vehicle Note 51 (Humber IV AC): The Vehicle Listing indicates that this vehicle has truck-type movement, but the counters indicate AC-type movement. The counters are correct. (This applies to both West of Alamein and For King and Country.)

 

Scenario J81 (Twisted Knickers): replace the 3 on-board Stuart IIIs with 3 Stuart Is (5 DVP each).

 

SASL Mission 15 (Pursuit): bullet two of the ÒS? Placement/ExitÓ instructions, replace ÒorÓ with ÒofÓ, so that it reads:

Òone in each road hex west of the Road Network bridge or, if the bridge is  part of a predominantly east-west road (i.e., a non-Road Network road), on  the EBE side of the non-Road Network sideÓ.
