Upcoming ASL products

We have posted a rough production schedule in the MMP News section of the Home page:

The latest ASL products that were released at Winter Offensive are being collated and shipped, to be followed by three games from The Gamers line, and then some other great games that are ready for printing.

Not ready for printing yet are the next ASL products Festung Budapest, the For King and Country reprint, and the Finnish module Hakkaa Päälle! The later was highlighted in Journal 8 (and not ready for preorder yet) and FKaC is up for preorder on the website.

What may be new to you is Festung Budapest, the upcoming HASL on the Russian assault on Budapest in the winter of '44-'45 from BIll Cirillo. Bill has been working on his labor of love for a good many years now, and all that hard work is about to reach fruition. Chas is working with Bill on polishing up the language and laying out the rules. Charlie Kibler has already painted the maps and they and the scenarios and campaign games are ready to go.

Also possible for preorder this spring might be a new Action Pack from Gary Fortenberry utilizing the new wide-board style introduced in AP6 Decade of War. This new pack will concentrate on actions in Italy. Gary says this is very close to being ready for submission, and it could jump the line.

Trying to get info on what happened to RED OCTOBER. Been waiting since 2000 haven't heard anything since.

Unlike for most of the years since 2000, Red October is actually being worked on as we type. But it is still going to be a while before it is ready.

I'm dying for a reprint of West of Alamein - It''s been out of print forever, it's the only core module missing from my shelf.

We will not be reprinting WoA. The British order of battle is now in For King and Country, which we will be reprinting shortly. The desert boards, and overlays, and rules (Chapter F) will be combined with the Italians in Hollow Legions which we will be reprinting before too long.

Where does Rising Sun fit in the production schedule? I thought it was farther along than Budapest or even HP?

We will put Rising Sun up for preorder after For King and Country ships. These reprints cost a lot of money without the big initial income that comes with a new product.

I'm wondering about if/when some of the "Out of Stock" modules will be available. The most obvious/key one is the ASL rulebook!

Is it possible to use the pre-order system for these, so that you guys can see the demand for them (and so we can get feedback on when they might come back out?!).

Some visibility into the plans/timelines for Yanks/Gung Ho/Croix de Guerre/Hollow Legions (reprint) would also be appreciated so I don't have to spend my kids college fund on eBay... :) If you are planning at reprinting these, maybe the preorder system would help you see the demand there too.

Rising Sun will include Gung Ho along with Code of Bushido. As mentioned above, it should be out this year, sometime after FKaC.

Hollow Legions with the desert material comes after that. Within a year from now.

Yanks and French further down the road, but much less than two years away.

All of these will go up on preorder prior to release.

The ASLRB has not been out of print long and will be back in print shortly. We do not use the preorder system for it.

Maybe you could put that info in a FAQ, unless, of course, it's not frequently asked :D

Of course, I've just gotten back into ASL, so perhaps I chose a particularly bad time to do it.

Perry - a RADICAL idea that I really think would make this new HASL a MUST HAVE new MMP module is to do what MMP has often done before: COMBINE it with the older version (yet related) A BRIDGE TOO FAR!!! I'm still dying to get this HASL game being added to my ASL empire; and this would not only help me, but I think any and all new ASLers and probably some old ones as well would love to have it as a one OPERATION MARKET GARDEN combo kit. Two seperate HASL modules combined in one set like MMP is now doing with Code of the Busido and Gung Ho in the RISING SUN module. And after all, it's already completed; and very little work would have to go into making this a set you can buy seperately (if older ASLers already own ABTF) or buying the combined kit for new guys like myself. Please! Please! PLEASE! Do your best to run this idea past the powers that be. Thanks - John
