Crete 1941: After the conquest of Greece in the spring of 1941, the scratch defense force of the island of Crete prepared for the next hammer-blow. The New Zealand forces defending the island prepared for a seaborne invasion - they did not realize they were to be the subject of the first-ever invasion that would come almost exclusively from the air...
The Germans realized they did not have the airborne force capable of taking the island by paradrop alone, so they added to the plan major reinforcements that would airlift into the battle after the assault force cleared landing strips. Maleme airfield turned out to be a key location for the reinforcing airlift and the fate of the entire invasion rested in the hands of the elite Fallschirmjaeger troops of the Luftwafe's STURM regiment.
This game covers the climactic struggle to take the crucial airstrop. The success of the German air assault rests in the hands of the player - glory or defeat, the choice is yours. The action is non-stop as both players must attack and defend vigorously. |

The Tactical Combat Series (TCS) brings the detail of small unit combat to the gaming table. Taking the role of Battalion or Company commander, TCS requires players to skillfully plan their assaults and their defenses through written Operations Sheets (Op Sheets). Units must follow orders as outlined on their Op Sheets. Unexpected circumstances can require split second decisions. Making these decisions is the easy part. Getting the orders to your toops, however, is another matter entirely.
