Anzio Bridgehead, 1944: British forces fight their way inland, establishing a salient near the township of Campeleone. Sensing that a retreat from this salient would dislodge, if not completely collapse, the tenuous allied foothold in Anzio, the British tommies dig in and await the inevitable German counterattack. When the attack comes, it is more ferocious and determined than possibly imagined. Equally as adamant to drive the tommies to the sea as the British were to hold their ground, the germans fanatically attacked. historically, the british held - albeit with heavy losses. Can you do the same? As the German commander, can you take some of the finest formations available in Italy and drive the allies into the sea?

The Tactical Combat Series (TCS) brings the detail of small unit combat to the gaming table. Taking the role of Battalion or Company commander, TCS requires players to skillfully plan their assaults and their defenses through written Operations Sheets (Op Sheets). Units must follow orders as outlined on their Op Sheets. Unexpected circumstances can require split second decisions. Making these decisions is the easy part. Getting the orders to your toops, however, is another matter entirely.
